Located in the northeast of Scotland, along the banks of the River Spey, Speyside is the most densely populated Whisky region in the world. It is home to over 60 distilleries, including some of the worlds most famous; Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, and The Macallan. These three distilleries alone make up one-third of the entire single malt market.
Speyside Whiskies can vary a lot in style and flavour, although Speyside is most known for single malt whisky matured in Sherry casks, are known for their sweet fruit forwardness – Apple, pear, honey, vanilla and spice.
Ideally suited for those starting out with Whisky, Speysides can provide a good introduction to single malts and help you discover your tastes for single malts.
