Kentucky is famous for its Bourbon, in fact over 95% of Bourbon is produced in Kentucky, with the majority of the distilleries located in the south of the state. Kentucky is home to some of the most famous names in American Whiskey- Jim Beam, Wild Turkey and the cult favourite Pappy Van Winkle.
Although Bourbon is the main whiskey produced in Kentucky, several of the larger distilleries also produce other varieties like Rye and Malt Whiskey.
Kentucky Whisky Requirements
While Bourbon can be made anywhere in the United States. Only whiskey produced entirely in the State of Kentucky can be labelled as Kentucky Straight Whiskey.
