Bourbon Whiskey

Although Bourbon can be produced anywhere in the United States, 95% of production occurs in Kentucky.

The requirements for whiskey to be classified as Bourbon are strict;

  • Produced entirely in the United States.
  • Distilled from a mash of at least 51% corn, plus a mix of wheat, rye or barley for flavour.
  • Aged in charred New American Oak barrels.
  • Bourbon must be bottled at a minimum of 40% alcohol by volume (ABV).
