Shinola is focused on bringing high-quality design and manufacturing back to the US. Best known for their watches & leather goods, they have recently turned their attention to audio gear. The standout among the range, The Runwell Turntable.
Machined out of a block of solid aluminium and set on a gorgeous wooden base, the Runwell Turntable could sit pride of place in any living room or bachelor pad. Just place it between two bookshelf speakers and dust off dads old record collection.

I wanted to make a turntable that could reproduce exactly what was on the record, and not change it. Make it sound just like the master tape.

The one drawback; it costs a bomb – $3500.
But you’re getting much more than a simple turntable, from a design point of view I haven’t seen anything that even comes close.
Having said that record players come in all shapes, sizes, and price points. If you’re looking to get started with vinyl records, I’d recommend the Audio-Technica AT-LP60.
