Nike just announced their newest running sneaker based on the React foam technology; the Epic React Flyknit Running Shoe. A one-piece Flyknit upper attached to a springy sole of React foam.
The star of the show here is Nikes new React foam technology. Which Nike claim to be a marked improvement on the latest gen of Lunarlon foam used in the LunarEpic Low Flyknit 2, with some pretty impressive stats;
- 13% more energy return
- 11% softer
- 10% bouncier
- 5% lighter
Many are calling the Epic React Flyknit a direct response to the very successful Adidas Ultra Boost. Ernest Kim, Director of Advanced Footwear, flexed his brand muscle and asserted Nike’s dominance in the industry.
“We’re not comparing Nike React technology to some no-name foam that fell off the back of a truck somewhere; we’re comparing it to our latest Lunarlon and, even with the bar set that high, Nike React technology delivers that much more energy return with each and every stride.”
The Nike Epic React Flyknit is available online at nike.com from Feb 22.
